Artists and events announced for maiden Afropolitan Vibes music festival

As part of the Afropolitan Vibes festival, intimate live acoustic sessions will take place at the Kongi Harvest hall, Freedom Park, Lagos. The acoustic sessions will be hosted by Ade Bantu, and Buki Sawyerr Izeogu of Classic FM. Ade Bantu, along with Abby Ogunsanya, is the co-founder of the monthly live show that holds at the Freedom Park, Lagos. Artists billed to perform at the sessions include Adunni and Nefretiti, Ayo Awosika, Aduke, Falana, Nosa,  Jinmi Abdul, Kaline, Sina Ayinde Bakare, Tomi Thomas, and Keziah Jones.

Over the two-day run of the festival, there will be an exhibition featuring the display of the Afropolitan Vibes magazines and pictures from the forty-three editions of the live shows. This exhibition will be curated by Uche James Iroha, a world renonwned photographer. There will also be an outdoor arts display by the muralist and visual aritst, Polly Alakija, which will feature works from the various community programs she conducts in Nigeria. To complete the visual arts aspect of the festival is live art sketches by Israel Fatola. 

The festival will also have a retro games section, as well as a Drum Circle where anyone can join to learn how to play the percussion instruments available. Dance workshops will be facilitated by the Crown Troupe of Africa.

A host of DJs will provide music around the park for its two-day duration and the main stage at the Freedom park will still feature the artists performing with the Bantu Crew in evening live sessions that promise surprise appearances.
