Kaya FM and Bassline Live present The Soil
Sensational South African a-capella group The Soil will begin the season and a new Kaya FM 95.9 Bassline music series with a live performance on Saturday, 4 February at The Lyric, Gold Reef City in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Lyric is the new home to the Bassline Live series event that was previously held at the Bassline in Newtown. The iconic music venue closed its doors in December 2016 to undergo a brand facelift and become a full-service live-music industry business. The new venue is set to hit the ground running with this debut show.
Signed to Native Rhythms Productions, The Soil is set to deliver an epic hometown celebration and at the same time introduce the new incarnation of The Bassline: Bassline Live.
In a statement, Managing Director Brad Holmes had this to say: "We couldn't be more excited to start this new chapter in Bassline's history with an incredible act live at an amazing new venue and with support from our valued partners Kaya FM 95.9, Old Mutual and South African Breweries."
Kaya FM's monthly Live @ The Bassline series begun in August 2015, and saw a glittering array of South African music stars grace the legendary Bassline stage. Bassline's closure meant that the series had to find a new home, and The Lyric at Gold Reef City was the natural choice.
With a world-class theatre on board, Kaya FM continued the partnership with Bassline Live to produce a monthly series that will run throughout 2017. “We are looking forward to seeing the series evolve and continue the promotion of South African music and empowering local talent,” says Greg Maloka, Kaya FM Managing Director.
Presented by Kaya FM 95.9 and Bassline Live, the show will be proudly supported by Old Mutual as exclusive financial services partner. South African Breweries will also partner with Bassline Live for this show.
The Soil is a Soweto based group with a successful music career that has taken them all over the globe. They made headlines when their new album Echoes of Kofifi was certified Gold status three weeks after its release.
Tickets available from Computicket for R180, or at The Lyric at Gold Reef City box office at R200.
