Call for applications: Visa for Music 2017

Those who were not selected in previous editions are also encouraged to apply.

A total of 30 artists or groups will be selected by a qualified jury to perform in front of music industry professionals from all over the world. The jury represents different musical aesthetics and the regions concerned: West Africa, East Africa, Portuguese-speaking Africa, North Africa and the Middle East.

Submissions are open until 15 April 2017 and any incomplete applications received after this deadline will not be considered.

To apply for this call, applicants should send the following documents:

• Application form
• A signed Visa for Music rules and regulations form
• Two copies of the artist’s/band’s CD to be send by post or a WeTransfer with all the tracks
• Press kit
• Technical rider

Results will be posted online on the Visa for Music website starting July 2017. Applications should be sent by email to showcase@visaformusic.com (preferably use WeTransfer orDropbox).

According to its website, Visa for Music’s mission is to enhance the cultural diversity of Africa and the Middle East by spotlighting artists in these territories. The event gives an opportunity to all music professionals to gather and structure the cultural sector.
