SA: Elaine releases Right Now single
South African R&B singer Elaine has released her new single ‘Right Now’. The song is available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms.
‘Right Now’ marks Elaine’s first track since the release of her debut EP Elements in 2019. The song is accompanied by a video in which the 22-year-old is seen living an independent and carefree life devoid of frustration that could be caused by being in a romantic relationship.
“This song is exactly what it means and feels like to welcome growth, celebrate being a confident woman and find comfort in independence,” Elaine said.
“When making this song, I remember walking up to the mic with a lot of things I was carrying in my heart but had trouble communicating and relaying to others. After I recorded it, things changed for me. The concept of love transformed from being a good lover to someone [else], to being a good lover to myself too.”
Elaine has quickly become a formidable R&B force on the local music scene since her breakout album, which was certified platinum in South Africa. The ‘Risky’ hitmaker was the first independent female artist to reach number one on the Apple Music Sub-Saharan African charts. The singer was also the first local artist to benefit from Spotify’s Radar programme for emerging artists. The musician's rise to fame also saw her signing a deal with US record label Columbia Records, which is owned by Sony Music Entertainment.
