Ghana DJ Awards to change name
Ghana DJ awards, a celebration aimed at honoring disc jockeys in Ghana, is now sponsored by Twellium Ghana.
As Twellium Ghana is the producer of Rush Energy Drink, the awards will now be known as Rush Ghana DJ Awards. This announcement was made at the premises of Twellium Company limited in Accra, Ghana by Merqury Quaye of Merqury Republic, organisers of the annual award ceremony.
Quaye said: “We're excited to have Twellium join us this year for the Ghana DJ awards, which of cause is an energetic brand and Rush represents energy. So, basically this morning we're officially announcing to the world that the Ghana DJ Awards 2017 is now called Rush Ghana DJ Awards."
Ms Brenda Asimani, a marketing supervisor for Twellium, said, "We're privileged to be the title sponsors of Ghana DJ Awards 2017," adding that, “It's a great opportunity for us and we hope this year's Rush Ghana DJ Awards will be a great one.”
The objective of the Rush Ghana DJ Awards is unchanged. It will still “recognize the electronic dance music scene, and seek to let the world know that the art of DJ’ing is a respected craft, with DJs playing a major role in the overall music and entertainment industry.”
Nominations for the fifth edition of the awards were open to the public in January. A list of nominees will be made public on 24 March at the MJ Grand Hotels.
