Call for applications: Goethe-Institut Johannesburg innovation coordinator
Goethe-Institut Johannesburg is calling on interested candidates to apply for the innovation coordinator position at its offices in Rosebank, South Africa.
The successful candidate will work in the institute’s information department on a part-time basis for 20 hours per week.
The innovation coordinator’s area of responsibility essentially includes:
- Market overview and testing of already established and new digital exchange platforms (immersive 3D worlds, virtual reality, hologram and new upcoming technologies).
- Advisory service for the 15 Goethe-Institutes in the sub-Saharan African region on digital formats, digital platforms, online moderation and hybrid events.
- Setting up a database for experiences with online moderation and exchange platforms.
- Experimenting with and advisory service on technical setups for hybrid events.
- Setting up a database for best practices of digital events and training formats.
- Evaluation of access figures, compilation of statistics and reports.
- Consultation in relationship with gaming projects, gamification processes and the execution of digital events.
- Assisting with budget planning and accounting for payments.
The applicant's profile should reflect the following:
- Studies or training in coding, gamification, game design, event technology or comparable sectors.
- Excellent knowledge of the English language. Knowledge of French and German is an advantage.
- Good writing style.
- Very good communication skills.
- Knowledge of the technical, cultural and media landscape.
- Ability to work under pressure, independently, flexibly and as part of a team.
- Reliability and accuracy.
- Work permit for South Africa.
The scope of employment is 50% (20 hours per week) and remuneration is according to the valid remuneration scheme for local staff of Goethe-Institut Johannesburg.
