Audiomack to promote artists in SA, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda
American music streaming service Audiomack has partnered with Ziiki Media to help improve artists’ presence in South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
Ziiki Media works with various businesses engaged in content aggregation and distribution in several formats, including recorded music, music publishing, merchandising and audio-visual content.
The partnership will commence in July and give the music streaming platform access to artists under Ziiki Media, offering them an opportunity to amplify their music through advertising campaigns such as posters, billboards, bus branding and live event activations.
“At Audiomack, we constantly work to identify challenges that exist in the music industry and pull our resources to overcome these challenges,” Audiomack Africa head of business development and media partnerships Charlotte Bwana said. “We recognise the need for artists to reach existing and potential fans within their region and beyond through impactful marketing tactics, making this initiative a good step in the right direction. With this partnership, we aim to support the growth of the African music industry and we look forward to spearheading similar initiatives that propel the region’s music ecosystem.”
Ziiki Media CEO Arun Nagar said: “Ziiki Media is home to prominent artists across sub-Saharan Africa and we are excited to combine efforts with Audiomack to help provide exposure and support to these talents. We believe that Ziiki Media and Audiomack’s shared value in spotlighting and elevating local talent will drive positive tangible change to the region’s music industry.”
Audiomack, which is available in all 54 African countries, says it remains committed to promoting African artists and culture. The company allows artists, labels and distributors to share and discover music through a mix of real-time trending, top charts and curated playlists.
Ziiki Media uses its partnerships with companies across Africa, India and Southeast Asia, to identify recording artists and produces, and distribute and promote content for global consumption.
The move adds to Audiomack’s recent partnerships with companies in Africa. In April, the service inked a deal with MTN Nigeria to bring music streaming to more than 76 million subscribers at zero data cost. In November, the company teamed up with Warner Music Group on a new licensing agreement, as well as with Chinese company Transsion Holdings, which owns streaming platform Boomplay Music, to drive the growing need for a tech-enabled entertainment platform in the Nigerian music market.
