The philosophy of Unreleased Records is to create a sound and image unique in the realm of Southern African and international hip-hop. The label’s initial focus is to develop young recording artists and blend raw local talent with professional reputable producers such as Draztik, Nyambz and Marlon Green.
Cashless Society was the first artist to be released through the label and remains one of the top five recording artists in South African hip-hop. Unreleased Records secured a strategic business relationship with Gallo Record Company, the largest music record label on the African continent, for the release of Young Nations' debut album 'Nations Uprising'. 2008 saw the release of 'Hip Hop Theatre' by the duo group Imbube. In the same year, hip-hop artist F-eezy signed to Unreleased Records to release his sophomore album in June 2009.
Unreleased Records has recently established its new base of operations in Johannesburg with a state-of-the-art recording facility. Current services provided by the company include voice and music recording, voice-overs, mixing, music production and audio design for radio and television.Unreleased Records has established strategic partnerships with production companies and agencies both locally and internationally for the provision of audio design work. The company has secured CD distribution through its partnership with Soul Candi Distribution and digital distribution through MTN Xploaded.
