
Job opportunity: Experts on cultural relations in Rwanda and Sudan
Experts in culture and cultural relations from Rwanda and Sudan can apply for an opportunity to conduct a diverse range of activities for the Cultural Relations Platform (CRP) in Brussels, Belgium.

This opportunity is a short-term assignment between September and November 2021.
CRP is a project funded by the Partnership Instrument (Service for Foreign Policy Instruments, European Commission) launched in April 2020 to support the European Union (EU) in engaging in international cultural relations within the framework of the EU strategy for international cultural relations.
The CRP follows up on the previous Cultural Diplomacy Platform (2016-2020). It provides a renewed approach based on shared principles and new activities, aiming to promote and facilitate sustainable cultural exchanges, people-to-people activities and co-creation processes between Europeans and citizens from countries worldwide.
Who can apply?
The project seeks experts from the following African countries:
- Rwanda – A researcher or cultural manager with knowledge of fashion, design and handicraft, and music sectors (objective mapping, matchmaking and facilitation).
- Sudan – A researcher or cultural manager with knowledge of the cultural and creative sectors, artistic freedom of expression, and the existing ecosystem in Sudan (objective mapping and reinforcement of ecosystem).
Qualifications
Those applying for the senior expert position should:
- Have a minimum of five years of postgraduate professional experience in international cultural relations, cultural diplomacy, the arts, cultural and creative industries and sectors, etc.
- Have expertise and knowledge of at least one of the countries mentioned above and one of the areas discussed above.
- Know EU-initiated policies, programmes and initiatives supporting cultural relations/exchanges between the EU and third countries.
- Demonstrated experience in data collection, analytical research, and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in research coordination, monitoring and evaluating activities and projects.
- Have excellent written and spoken skills in English. Knowledge of the languages of the countries mentioned above is strongly valued.
Those applying for the junior expert position should:
- Have a minimum of three years of postgraduate professional experience in international cultural relations, cultural diplomacy, the arts, cultural and creative industries and sectors, etc.
- Have expertise and knowledge of at least one of the countries mentioned above and one of the areas as mentioned above.
- Demonstrated experience in data collection, analytical research and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluating activities and projects.
- Know EU-initiated policies, programmes and initiatives supporting cultural relations/exchanges between the EU and third countries would be an asset.
- Have excellent written and spoken skills in English. Knowledge of the languages of the countries mentioned above is strongly valued.
