Call for applications: International Chopin Piano Competition
Applications are ongoing for the third edition of the International Chopin Piano Competition in Vienna, Austria.
The competition is organised by Gloria Artis Music, a Vienna-based music institution established to support the careers of young musicians through festivals and other music events.
The piano competition is open to pianists of any nationality. It will reward the winners with cash prizes and scholarships to the Baylor School of Music in Texas, US.
The application deadline is 30 September.

Contestants will be grouped into five categories:
- Category 1 (up to 10 years old).
- Category 2 (up to 13 years old).
- Category 3 (up to 16 years old).
- Category 4 (up to 21 years old).
- Category 5 (no age limit).
Video submission requirements
- To participate, applicants are required to submit links to their performance videos. Only links to public platforms like YouTube are accepted.
- Video links submitted should be marked as private.
- In the video title or description, applicants must indicate the title of the pieces, their composers and performers.
- All works must be presented by memory and without repetition.
- The recording may be made using a static camera or mobile phone.
- The whole piece must be recorded in one cut.
- Videos or sound editing is not allowed.
- The whole silhouette, as well as the hands of the contestant, must be clearly visible.
- For competition purposes, the submitted video should not have been made earlier than 12 months prior to the competition.
Prizes
- First Prize: €1 000 ($1 200)
- Second Prize: €800
- Third Prize: €600
Note
- There will be a concert opportunity in Vienna for the winners.
- The competition will reward winners with two scholarships to participate in the Summer Piano Institute organised by the Baylor School of Music in June 2022.
- There will be special prizes awarded for outstanding musicianship and artistic potential.
