Nigeria: DJ Cuppy signs with UK management agency
London-based talent management agency M&C Saatchi Merlin announced today that it had signed DJ Cuppy.
This comes after the Nigerian DJ was named as the new host of BBC 1Xtra’s Weekend Breakfast Show in December.
“We’re pleased to announce our newest signing DJ and presenter Cuppy,” M&C Saatchi Merlin said on social media. “Welcome to the M&C Saatchi Merlin family.”
“Huge news! Signed a management deal with @MCSaatchiMerlin,” Cuppy tweeted. “Told you I was coming for the UK. Watch this space!”
Cuppy, who was born born Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola and is the daughter of billionaire Femi Otedola, joins an impressive roster of creative professionals across music, media and sports at M&C Saatchi Merlin. They include fellow DJ and presenter Nadia Jae, singer and broadcaster Fleur East and former football manager and pundit Harry Redknapp.
Cuppy is currently studying towards a master’s degree from the University of Oxford. She is the founder of The Cuppy Foundation and is behind the House of Cuppy (2014) and House of Cuppy II releases. In August 2020, she released her debut album Original Copy under Platoon.
