Nigerian Entertainment Conference 2022 set for 29 April
The organisers of the annual Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive), have announced that the 2022 edition will be held as a hybrid event from the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos on 29 April.
Put together by ID Africa, the programme brings together industry professionals and entertainment enthusiasts from around Africa to engage in impactful conversations on sustaining growth in the continent’s creative space. The conference features talks, performances and workshops.
NECLive, which was first held in 2013, is now in its ninth year. This year’s edition will run under the theme Sustaining the Africa Momentum and will feature a studio set-up of notable players in the entertainment industry who will share their experiences and brainstorm on solutions to the challenges facing the industry. They will also attempt to dissect the use of digital tools and the opportunities they present for Africans and its diaspora.
Confirmed speakers for the event include Nigerian creative entrepreneur Obi Asika, MultiChoice’s executive head of content and West Africa Channels Dr Busola Tejumola, East African music publicist Anyiko Owoko and Rwandan gospel music star Aline Gahongayire.
Over 470 speakers and panellists, 70 exhibitions and brands, and 14 000 physical attendees have participated in NECLive since its inception. Previous NECLive speakers have included popstars Tiwa Savage, Simi, Banky W and DJ Cuppy.
“Creativity, pop culture, technology and youthful energy are some of the most powerful forces that can create meaningful social and economic change in Africa today and tomorrow,” ID Africa CEO Femi Falodun said. “The true potential of Africa’s creative sector will be fully unlocked when practitioners have acquired the necessary skills and tapped into the growing global interest in the unique African offering.
“This is why NECLive9 is bringing together key industry players from across the continent for a much-needed conversation on how to sustain the Africa momentum.”
The event will be broadcast on TV, radio and across digital platforms including Neusroom, Netng and NECLive’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
Registration is open until 22 April. Interested individuals can sign up for the 2022 NECLive conference here. For more information, visit the official website or send an email to info@nec.ng).
