Ghana: Adina joins Lynx Entertainment
Ghanaian-South African singer Adina has signed with Accra-based record label Lynx Entertainment.
The deal was confirmed at the label’s 15th anniversary celebration in Ghana's capital Accra on Wednesday, and will see the ‘Why’ singer join fellow Afropop stars KiDi and Kuami Eugene at the record company.
Adina has also released her first single under Lynx Entertainment titled ‘Hallelujah’ with a video directed by Rex.
Founded in 2006 by singer, songwriter and producer Richie Mensah, the company, which caters to the hiplife, hip hop and R&B artists, is credited with launching careers of Ghanaian musicians like Asem, Irene Logan, Eazzy, MzVee and DopeNation, among others.
Adina, who first rose to prominence after winning a local music reality show Stars of the Future in 2008, was previously represented by the New African Movement after signing with them in 2012.
According to Lynx Entertainment, the new deal will drive the next phase of the career of the singer, who currently ranks among the country's leading female vocal talents, and is eyeing international success.
Adina is behind multiple hit singles including ‘Too Late’, ‘Makoma’, ‘Take Care of You’, ‘Killing Me Softly’ and ‘On My Way’. In 2020, she released her debut album Araba, which was named the Album of the Year at the 2021 VGMAs. In March of the same year, she was named among the Top 30 Most Influential Women in Music and crowned Music Woman of the Year by the 3Music Awards.
