SAMAs to be held at Sun City in August
The 28th edition of the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) will be held at the Sun City Superbowl near Rustenburg on 28 August.
The in-person event will be held following two years of virtual ceremonies due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The show will air on SABC 1 at 8pm, with more information about the host and performers to be released soon.
“After two years of virtual events, the excitement around our return to Sun City, North West, is palpable,” Recording Industry of South Africa CEO Nhlanhla Sibisi said. “We are thrilled about the production that we are putting together, which will comprise incredible performances and a host of moments that will not easily be forgotten.
“Certainly, as we draw closer to the big day, there will be exciting announcements about our hosts and performers who will be key to this celebration of the nation’s best in music. We urge the public to have their say and vote for their favourites to win a prestigious South African Music Award at our gala event.”
