Ben B the Brave (born Benjamin Byiringiro on 5th March 1995) is a Rwandan rapper, singer, songwriter,and composer notable for his conscious lyrics and enlivening performances. Benjamin, the third of four children, was born in Kigali city. He began singing in school clubs and like many other musicians, he enjoyed writing and performing music from an early age. Inspired by American hip hop artists like Eminem, he started rapping in high school (College Saint Jean Nyarusange & Ecole Secondaire Saint Joseph Karuganda) festivals and he represented his schools various times in art competitions while other times wrote songs for others. After being the finalist in the I CAN BE YOUR VOICE singing competition of the 1000hills promoters, and the AFRIFAME VOX, Benjamin started a professional career. His first single "kuva ku isi" was recorded in December 2016 and awarded the Song of the Week on February 24 2017 by the TalentCast (a Netherland's independ artists podcast program). Followed by the release of his popular single "umukono" he proved to be the talented conscious rapper especially through his performances in the Grand Auditorium of the former Universite Nationale du Rwanda where he was one of the member of Musicians association. Apart from music, he completed a university degree in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Rwanda in 2017.
