Alternative acts Ric Hassani and BOJ are set to release their debut albums.
Ric Hassani (real name Ikechukwu Eric Ahiauzu), who is famous for the song Gentleman, made the development public on social media. “Excited to put out my first body of work,” he wrote on Twitter. “I'm happy that I can give my fans a fuller experience of my kind of music.”
Titled The African Gentleman, the album is scheduled for release on 30 July. Ric Hassani, who is signed to RiverLand Records, is born to professor parents, and has released two music projects so far, including 2015’s Ric Hassani – The Acoustic EP. Ahead of the release of The African Gentleman, Hassani has just released a new single titled ‘Only You.’
For his part, BOJ (born Bolaji Ojodukan) announced via Twitter that plans for a forthcoming project titled Magic have changed. “So guys,” he posted, “after thinking I’ve decided I’m not dropping an EP anymore! It’s an album now! Shit just got real! #Magic.”
Magic is yet to receive a release date. But fans can listen to BOJ collabos featuring such acts as Show Demp Camp, Runtown, Olamide and Ajebutter 22. Alongside Ajebutter, BOJ recently performed at the Mr Eazi concert at the Shrine.
