Win tickets to Folklore Festival in Johannesburg!
Music In Africa, in partnership with Akum Agency, is giving away 10 double tickets to the inaugural Folklore Festival taking place at the National School of the Arts (NSA) in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 1 October.
The event will feature The Soil (South Africa), Wanlov The Kubolor (Ghana), Leomile (Lesotho), Pilani Bubu and her Folklore Ensemble (South Africa), Stevo Atambire (Ghana), Papillon Musa (Kenya), Leomile (Lesotho), Napo Masheane (South Africa), Nicky B (South Africa) and more.
The Folklore Festival is a celebration of African culture, customs and community and is set to close off and celebrate South African Heritage Month with a diverse pan-African creative offering from North, South, East and West Africa. A perfect family day experience!
How to enter
To stand a chance to win a double pass to the festival, follow the below steps:
- Follow @pilanibubu, @folklorefestival.za, @musicinafricaofficial and @akumagency on Instagram.
- Post any Folklore Festival poster on your feed and tag the above four accounts.
- Send a screenshot of your post via email at jess@akumagency.com with your first name, last name and email address.
The competition runs from 27 September to 29 September at midnight.
The winners will be contacted on Friday 30 September before 5pm.

Competition rules
- The competition runs from 27 September to 29 September at midnight.
- You can only enter the competition once; multiple entries will be disqualified.
- To be eligible you have to complete all the required fields. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
- Each winner will receive no more than two (2) tickets.
- Folklore Festival shall only offer the said tickets. Winners will have to provide their own transport to and from the event, arrange for their own accommodation and any other relevant expenses.
- For entrants outside of South Africa, this competition is only open to holders of a valid passport.
- Prizes are not transferable and are not negotiable.
- No prize shall be exchangeable for money.
- No employee or board member of the Music In Africa Foundation, members of their immediate family or employees of partner organisations may enter.
- If a winner is unable to take up a prize for any reason, or if Akum Agency has not been able to contact the winner after making reasonable efforts, Akum Agency reserves the right to award that prize (without notice to the first winner chosen) to an alternative winner, in which case the first winner chosen shall not be eligible for any share of the prize whatsoever. The Music In Africa Foundation shall not be liable in such eventuality.
- Automated entries, bulk entries or third-party entries will be disqualified.
- Any violation or attempt to violate any of the above rules will result in the immediate disqualification of the transgressor.
