Nigeria: Listen to Mavin Records’ Chapter X album
Nigerian Afrobeats label Mavin Records has released a compilation album in celebration of its 10th anniversary this year. The project, titled Chapter X, is available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms.
The project comprises 10 tracks, and features Afrobeats singers Rema, Ayra Starr, Ladipoe, Boy Spyce, Bayanni, Magixx, Crayon and Johnny Drille.
“The compilation marks a milestone moment that will see each artist in all their glory as we simultaneously celebrate the continuous efforts of the formidable label,” a statement reads. “Under the leadership of legendary producer Don Jazzy, Mavin Records has been at the forefront of music business conversations since starting the label in 2012.”
Chapter X was heralded by the single ‘Overdose (Overloading)’, which has currently amassed over 200 million streams, over 40 million views on YouTube and over 1.7 million creations on TikTok. Last week, ahead of the album’s arrival, the label released ‘Won Da Mo’, produced by in-house beatmaker Andre Vibes.
Other songs on the LP include the dance-ready ‘Amina’ and the dreamy love ballad ‘You’ and ‘Jara’, which includes a guest verse from Don Jazzy, who served as executive producer for the album.
Mavin delivers 360-degree label services as well as management, publishing, sync, production and strategic partnerships, with high-profile collaborations in fashion, sport, design, live events and cross-platform digital content.
The label boasts an illustrious roster that includes Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal, Reekado Banks and Iyanya, among others. Aside from its current 10 artists, the label also boasts two songwriters and five producers.
Meanwhile, the company has announced the Mavin All-Star concert on 16 December to commemorate its 10th anniversary.
“It’s not easy to have that staying power in our industry, but our fans have been amazing,” Don Jazzy said. “They’ve been with us on this journey and they’ve relentlessly supported the amazing talents we discovered and groomed here at Mavin. We are inspired to do more and to continue pushing the industry to the global stage.”
