Hisham Kamal

Hisham Kamal is a Sudanese composer, performer and music teacher based in Khartoum.

He is a graduate of the College of Music and Drama in Khartoum. His musical career started when he learned how to play the Oud. Hisham developed into a performing vocalist and played the keyboard.

A turning in his musical career was when he joined Sawra Vocal and Musical Group in 1995. He joined the group as a vocalist. Kamal performed with Sawra until 2002, when he set off to pursue a more individualized music career.

He continues to write contemporary Sudanese songs, and regularly appears on public TV shows as a musical critic.
