Ayra Starr releases Sability single
Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has released a new single titled ‘Sability’, which is available for streaming and download on various major digital platforms.
The song is Ayra Starr’s first solo single in 2023 following last year’s monumental viral hit ‘Rush’, which has amassed more than 236 million combined streams. It arrives ahead of her UK club tour this month, taking place in London, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and Leicester.
Charged with her signature unapologetic style and an infectious, rhythmic dance beat, the new track could become the next big hit out of West Africa.
“I am here to inspire people to be creative and live their best lives in whatever they do, which is why I wanted to make this happy song everyone would relate with,” Ayra Starr said.
“Growing up there were some songs I listened to that I would term ‘happy songs’. I decided to lean towards making a high-vibrational song because I wanted to remind people of their childhood joy, what life was before the troubles, and also to transport them to that moment. ‘Sability’ is a happy song which would definitely take you back memory lane, good memories.”
Ayra Starr is rapidly carving out a niche for herself in the global arena. She has been tipped by Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, NME, Dazed, No Signal and British Vogue for her unique blend of Afropop, R&B, and alté, and was named as a BBC 1Xtra Hot for 2023 artists and a Vevo’s DSCVR Artist to Watch 2023.
The past year alone has been marked with incredible career highlights for the young artist. She launched the deluxe edition of her critically acclaimed debut album 19 & Dangerous in October, which features ‘Rush’ and Grammy award-winning legend Kelly Rowland on a remix of ‘Bloody Samaritan’. Ayra Starr also collaborated with Stormzy and Wizkid on their respective, heavily anticipated latest albums.
Tickets to the London, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and Leicester events are available here.
