SA: Dboi releases new single Bezos

The track, named after American businessman Jeff Bezos, is available for streaming and download on all major platforms.

Relying on the expertise of Afrobeats producer KDDO, Dboi takes listeners on a sonic journey confessing his love for a romantic interest as he “chases Bezos”, a metaphor for money.

The single is Dboi's first release of 2023 and is set to be followed by numerous projects over the year. His fans can expect more music featuring the likes of DJ Maphorisa, Zlatan Ibile and other collaborations.

“I have a lot in store for my fans this year, I think they really deserve more music as they have always supported me," he said.

Speaking on the creation of the song and the experience of working with KDDO, Dboi said: “I have a lot of respect for him and I am grateful for the role he has played in my career. I feel like he understands me and how I want to go about my music, which is really important.”

KDDO, who is best known for producing one of Afrobeats’ longest charting Billboard singles ‘Fall’ by Davido, has worked with Dboi several times before, collaborating on songs like ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Mula’ released under his former stage name Nome.

The singer started honing his musical skills at an early age as a member of a church choir where his vocal, choreography and drumming abilities came to the fore.
