Call for entries: 2023 Pitcher Awards for African creatives
African creatives are invited to submit entries for the 2023 Pitcher Awards set to take place in Lagos, Nigeria, on 20 May.
The Pitcher Awards show is the climax of the Pitcher Festival of Creativity, which celebrates artistic and innovative excellence in Africa.
A jury made up of experts from across different regions come together to review and benchmark creativity expressed across the continent through various media including print, film, audio, outdoor, PR, entertainment, digital, as well as works that have been specifically deployed for the good of mankind.
Entries for the Pitcher Awards are open to all work created, released or implemented anywhere on the African continent. This means that even projects created outside of Africa but designed specifically for implementation or release in Africa are eligible to enter.
Change for 2023
It is recommended that applicants download and read the entry guidelines for 2023, even if they are familiar with the entry requirements for the Pitcher Awards. Two important changes concern non-profit organisations and self-promotion materials by advertising agencies.
Submission profile
Before completing an entry form, applicants will need to register first to create their profile. This ensures that applicants do not have to repeat basic personal and company information each time they complete an entry. After creating a profile, applicants may proceed to download the entry guidelines and submit their work via the entry platform.
Submission deadline
Closing date for entries is 31 March 2023.
Judging
The Pitcher Awards uses a transparent judging process. Judges are appointed based on their experience and reputation. As much as possible, emphasis is placed on appointing professionals working in Africa in line with the awards’ vision of promoting the creativity of the region and the people behind them.
Each winning entry will have its own dedicated page on the Pitcher Awards website and in print in the Pitcher Awards Showcase publication.
