Yemi Alade Paris concert comes to television

The concert, which took place in April, sees the singer perform some of her hits including ‘Johnny’ and ‘Kissing’. The two-time MOBO winner performs the latter song with French singer Marvin.

Speaking before the concert, Yemi Alade urged fans to come see her continent. “We’re bringing the culture and you need to be there to experience Africa,” she said to Paris magazine Into the Chic. “If you’ve ever had questions about Africa and what it feels like, I think this is the closest you’ll be getting to Africa if you haven’t travelled there. We’ll be giving you good music with live instruments and dance!”

This year has seen Yemi Alade release the Mama Afrique EP, a follow up to her 2016 album Mama Africa. To promote the EP, the artist shot a video for 'Charliee'. She has also released the single ‘Knack Am’ ahead of her third album, which is tentatively titled Black Magic. Watch the video for ‘Charliee’ below.
