Adekunle Gold to hit the road with forthcoming Tequila Ever After album
Nigerian singer and songwriter Adekunle Gold has announced his 2023 summer tour in support of his forthcoming fifth album Tequila Ever After.
The tour comes on the heels of his signing with Def Jam in March, and will see him on the road in venues across the US and Canada from 22 September to 22 October.
Tequila Ever After was heralded with the release of his three-track pack, Tio Tequila, in May, comprising ‘Party No Dey Stop’ featuring Zinoleesky, ‘Do You Mind’ and ‘Omo Eko’.
“This is the album that I’ve had the most fun working on,” Adekunle Gold said of the impending project. “I started recording during my tour last year, where I performed in over 45 cities and soaked in so much culture and rich experiences. I can definitely say that these experiences influenced my music and sound. I’ve poured my heart and soul into this album. It is my most versatile work yet.”
Throughout his career, Adekunle Gold has been widely praised for his unique fusion of Afro-pop, Afrobeats, R&B and amapiano sounds. His previous albums include Gold (2016), About 30 (2018) and Afro Pop Vol. 1 (2020) and Catch Me If You Can (2022).
