Ghana: Camidoh drops video for Brown Skin Girl
Shot in his native Ghana and directed by Meekah Ski, the clip takes viewers through a world of captivating imagery that celebrates the beauty of dark-skinned women.
LITA, an acronym for “Love is the Answer”, offers listeners an immersive experience that delves deep into the complexities of romance, growth and personal discovery.
Discussing the project with Music In Africa recently, the 2023 BET nominee best known for the 2022 anthem ‘Sugarcane’, said: “As an individual, I’ve just been blessed with very loving people throughout my upbringing. Everything that has shaped my life kinda happened through the process of love and kindness. That’s basically where the inspiration for the title came from. Generally, Ghana is a very peaceful place, so the dots just connect.”
The 15-track mixtape features guest appearances by fellow Ghanaian acts M.anifest, King Promise, as well as Nigerian singer Mayorkun, and more. Throughout the collection, Camidoh skillfully infuses soul, R&B and Afrobeats elements, crafting a sound that is uniquely his own.
Signed with Grind Don't Stop Records, Camidoh is behind other well-received songs like ‘For My Lover’ featuring Darkovibes, ‘The Best’ featuring Kelvyn Boy and ‘Available’ featuring Eugy. In 2020, Camidoh dropped a six-track EP titled Contingency Plan.
