ACCES 2023 announces more speakers

Six more speakers have been confirmed for this year’s Music In Africa Conference for Collaborations, Exchange and Showcases (ACCES), which is set to return to Dar es Salaam on 9, 10, and 11 November. The annual pan-African event will take place at the prestigious Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre as well as other venues in the Tanzanian city.

Nigerian music tech entrepreneur Ebenezer Akachukwu will speak at ACCES 2023 this November.

Registrations for ACCES 2023 are now open on a first-come, first-served basis, with African delegates registering for free.

Music professionals, enthusiasts and artists alike can look forward to taking advantage to various opportunities at the music trade show, including talent discovery, knowledge sharing and networking with international delegates from more than 40 countries.

Among the newly announced speakers, who will participate in discussions discussing the latest trends in the African and global music industries, is Percy Yip Tong (Mauritius) who in 1986 started Cyper Produktion to promote artists from the country and neighbouring islands in the South-West Indian Ocean region. His work and collaborations with artists from Africa have earned him many accolades. He is an artistic director, producer and band manager, and is well known for his cultural expertise within the International Organisation of the Francophonie for Eastern and Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean region.

Joining the Mauritian music professional is Sisso Records managing director Abbas Jazza (Tanzania). As one of the founders of the singeli movement, he boasts extensive expertise in promotion and talent management, representing some of the most promising singeli acts in Tanzania.

Other industry experts joining the speaker’s line-up are Jusnah Gadi, founder of Young Music Boss in the UK, Sudanese cultural curator and musician Islam Elbeiti, Ghanaian broadcaster and media consultant Antoine Mensah, and Nigeria’s Ebenezer Akachukwu, who is the founder of music startup SaveFi Tech.

Meanwhile, showcasing acts announced to date include Feli Nandi (Zimbabwe), Alostmen (Ghana), Ngwaka Son Systéme (DRC), Madalitso Band (Malawi), Nour Harkati (Tunisia), Kasiva Mutua (Kenya), Damian Soul (Tanzania), Leo Mkanya (Tanzania), Siti Muharam (Tanzania) and Zolani Mahola & The Feminine Force (South Africa).
