Nigeria: Vector and Audiomack announce open verse winners
Nigerian rapper Vector has announced the winners of his recently ended #ShowYourFlex open verse challenge that sought to support the growth and development of upcoming artists across Africa.
- Nexto Efughi was one of the three winners of Vector and Audiomack's #ShowYourFlex open verse challenge.
The contest, held in partnership with streaming platform Audiomack, invited up-and-coming musicians to render an original verse to Vector’s latest single ‘Big Flexa’. It follows a similar initiative by Adekunle Gold – #My5StarStory challenge –which was won by Genie KG earlier this year.
Vector announced the #ShowYourFlex winners at the weekend, expressing gratitude to all participants. He also mentioned that the rappers who made it to the playlist will be revealed in due course.
The competition produced three winners, namely Ojie Iredia, Buez and Nexto Efughi. Each of them will be awarded a $100 gift card for music studio gear and a promotional package from Audiomack, which includes a Top 20 trending spot, an editorial playlist feature and a push notification to millions of Audiomack app users. Additionally, they will receive exclusive TESLIM merchandise from Vector.
Audiomack currently reaches more than 25 million monthly users globally.
Last month, the company announced that its Creator App, launched in 2022 to allow musicians access to insights on their fans’ listening habits, top streaming markets, tastemakers supporting their music and long-term growth assessment, has surpassed one million installations.
The company also recently partnered with Nigerian fintech Flutterwave to expand access and monetisation opportunities for African artists.
