Bio
Edith WeUtonga Katiji is an award winning musician and actress from Zimbabwe.
She is a bassist and lead vocalist for her band Utonga. Edith is a founding member and current president of the Zimbabwe Musicians Union. She also serves as the vice president of the International Federation of Musicians (FIM).
An academic, Edith has published papers on the state of music in Zimbabwe and currently working on more in collaboration with the FIM- Africa union members. Edith, through her ZAWADI Development Trust runs a music project in partnership with Shimanami Art Farm in Japan that has brought musical instruments to Zimbabwe and empowering women in music to play and teach.
