Open call: International Duo Symposium composition competition

Eligibility

• Composition must be written for a duo ensemble.
• Any combination of two instruments/voice types (no piano or elaborate percussion/electronic setups).
• Marimba can be provided, but any other percussion equipment is the responsibility of the ensemble.
• Set up time must be less than five minutes.
• Composer age – there is no age limit for composition contestants.

Competition guidelines

• Interested composers should submit their compositions here before 15 January.
• To complete the submission, composers will need to provide a link to the score and a link to a recording (MIDI is sufficient).
• Maximum of two submissions per composer allowed.
• The winner will be announced in February 2024.

The winners’ recital will be held on 7 April and the winning composition performed at the IDS winner’s concert. The winner will be awarded $400.
