Tresor’s music will now be published globally by Sony Music Publishing and Jacquel Music Publishing, a division of Tresor’s Jacquel Entertainment Group.
“This is a milestone moment in my music career,” Tresor said. “It’s an honour to have my talent recognised on a global scale and to be positioned amongst the best songwriters and composers in the world. Thank you to the Sony Music Publishing USA team for welcoming me and aligning with my vision. I look forward to a fruitful journey together, making music that will be enjoyed for generations to come.”
Sony Music Publishing vice president for creative A&R Ari Gelaw said: “We are ecstatic to welcome Tresor to the Sony Music Publishing family. Tresor’s exceptional creativity and artistry align perfectly with our commitment to fostering musical excellence. We are confident that this collaboration will yield remarkable opportunities and propel him to even greater heights.”
Sony Music Publishing manager for creative A&R Simone Dixon said: “Tresor has incredible talent as a songwriter, producer and artist – his unique style blends elements of pop, Afro-fusion and hip hop and creates a fresh and exciting sound that appeals to global audiences. We’re so happy to welcome Tresor to SMP and we look forward to supporting his creative endeavours.”
Born Mukengerwa Tresor Riziki in Goma, DRC, Tresor is known for his unique soul sound. Since he relocated to South Africa, the award-winning artist has made an indelible mark on the Afropop scene, with notable collaborations with top local musicians including AKA, Msaki and Beatenberg.
Apart from his music, the singer is also involved with other projects including the Hunter’s X Jacquel Culture House (JCH) launched in April. The platform, which features workshops and talent search campaigns, is aimed at new artists in South Africa looking to succeed in the music industry. He was recently inducted into Recording Academy’s class of 2022.
