Call for submissions: Northern-Ghana Entertainment Awards

According to a statement by the organisers Smile Multimedia, which is working in collaboration with the Celebrities Charity Development Foundation, the event is intended to “recognise and honour distinguished personalities who have positively contributed to the sound growth of the entertainment industry in Northern Ghana”.

The coming event follows the second edition that took place at the Radach Hotel in Tamale. Like that ceremony, the 2108 even will “concentrate on honouring persons who have made immense contribution and aided in the development of the entertainment industry in the year under review”.

The programme will also reward “hardworking individuals, brands and organisations outside the entertainment fraternity, like politicians, entrepreneurs, companies, NGOs and corporate organisations” as part of the Northern Excellence Awards, which “is a merit award scheme as part of the NEA Awards Ghana 2018”.

Among others, winners from 15 categories of music nominees will emerge.

The categories are:

• Overall Artiste of the Year
• Artiste of the Year – NR
• Artiste of the Year – UE
• Artiste of the Year – UW
• Best Female Yocalist of the Year
• Best Male Vocalist
• Overall Most Popular Song of the Year
• Most Popular Song of the Year – NR
• Most Popular Song of the Year – UE
• Most Popular Song of the Year – UW
• Best Collaboration Song of the Year
• Best Music Video of the Year
• Discovery of the Year
• Best Rapper of the Year
• Best Sound Engineer of the Year
