Open call: Bloemfontein Children’s Choir summer auditions in SA

Successful auditionees stand a chance to perform in South Africa as well as tour Europe in 2025. The choir will also undertake a coastal tour in 2024, performing with the South Cape Children’s Choir, the Tygerberg Children’s Choir and the Cape Town Children’s Choir.

In 2023, the choir performed at the first National Conductors Convention in Cape Town as the only children’s choir in the country to be invited to perform at this prestigious event. In addition to a tour to Kimberley, BCC ended the year with a performance with the Drakensberg Boys Choir. In 2022, Euro Disney hosted the choir on a tour to Europe where it performed outstandingly in countries like Belgium, France and Germany.

“The choir was established 36 years ago to be a shining beacon of quality children’s choral music and has been home to many children throughout the years,” BCC said in a statement. “The choir has performed on world, national and local stages. In 2020, the choir appointed Werner Stander as director of music and continued an exciting path toward the future.”
