Senegalese startup unveils AI-powered instant mastering tool
Senegalese startup Senmixmaster has unveiled an AI-powered tool that facilitates instant music mastering.
The product, also called Senmixmaster, is being promoted by its developers as the “first AI-powered creative platform dedicated to music in Africa.” It utilises a combination of AI and reinforcement learning with functions akin to a real engineer and ensures a professional sound even in unlikely environments such as cars.
It is targeted at artists, engineers, producers, beatmakers and content creators.
“It is more and more urgent for artists to offer quality songs [and] mastering is the ultimate treatment of your music before its release,” a statement reads. “It is the process of finalising a song by improving the overall sound.”
The statement adds that the innovation forms part of a mission to power artistic creation with innovative technology solutions and enable artists to have equal access to the tools and opportunities needed to create their best sounds.
Senmixmaster not only addresses technical errors but also applies essential enhancements, making unique decisions throughout the mastering process to deliver an exceptional music-listening experience.
“The objective is not to replace sound engineers, but simply to democratise and make mastering more inclusive and accessible with innovative tools to complete the creative processes in the field of audio and music,’’ Senmixmaster founder and CEO Boubacar Djiba, who boasts over 15 years of industry experience in the music industry, said.“We are a tech start-up focused on music and audio solutions, but we are also sound engineers and composers who understand the musical environment and the needs linked to this ecosystem in terms of innovation.
“We have been working on this platform for years, which is timely [as] more than 50% of artists have difficulty mastering their music, or affording the expensive costs of a mastering engineer or mastering studio fees. Our platform has been tested by renowned engineers around the world [and] we do not doubt the reliability and rendering quality of the mastering of our platform.’’
Senmixmaster will compete with other international services like Norway-based Masterchannel, Canada-based LANDR and US-based eMastered.
