Prince Claus Fund announces Cycle 3 Building Beyond mentorship recipients
The Prince Claus Fund, in partnership with the Creative Industries Fund NL, has announced the 12 award recipients who will be reimagining the future of their cities as part of Cycle 3 of the Building Beyond mentorship programme.
The announcement follows a call in May last year that was designed for mid-career artists, designers or creatives with five to 10 years of experience in architecture, design or spatial practice.
The mentorship will bring together the recipients in a year-long interdisciplinary programme. They will be supported by four mentors as well as their peers and will work at accelerating their engaged community-based practices addressing ideas of urban space and citizenship.
Hailing from eight different countries, the selected artists’ practices span a wide range of design fields including architecture, urbanism, digital design, visual arts, photography, research and performance. The Cycle 3 cohort will be looking at challenges and opportunities within their local context and communities particularly around vernacular spatial and design practices, (im)permanance in relation to public spatial dynamics and holding space.
