Call for applications: Sauti za Busara 2019

Sauti za Busara is one of Africa’s leading music events. Held annually, the festival's mission is to increase visibility and accessibility for African music, develop skills and opportunities for those in the music industry and strengthen regional and international networking and partnerships.

The closing date for applications is 31 July 2018. Artists representing music from the Arab world and Indian Ocean are also welcome to apply.

A selection committee will meet in August to finalise the line-up, after which all applicants will be notified of their status before September.

Successful participants and their managers will benefit from the following:

• A modest honorarium
• Per diems for meals and incidentals
• Accommodation in Zanzibar
• All local transport related to the performance
• Tanzanian visa costs, reimbursed against receipts
• Festival passes for all shows and activities
• Artist profile in festival programmes and press releases as well as on website and social media

Required documents

• Artist profile/biography
• Latest audio release (send two CDs by post, or maximum three songs via WeTransfer/Dropbox)
• DVD of live performance, or one clip via WeTransfer/Dropbox (if available)
• Two high-resolution promotional photos
• Stage plan and technical rider (if available)
