SoundCloud names Marni Greenberg SVP and head of communications
Berlin-based music sharing and distribution platform SoundCloud this week named Marni Greenberg as its senior vice-president and head of communications.
The news was confirmed by CEO Eliah Seton, to whom she will report. Greenberg will oversee SoundCloud’s worldwide communications efforts, encompassing external media relations, internal communications, brand marketing, social media and executive communications for both Seton and the SoundCloud management team.
“Music and creating meaningful connections between artists and audiences has long been a passion, and fostering these connections is now more important than ever,” Greenberg said. “SoundCloud’s mission to empower artists while giving music enthusiasts a place to discover what’s next in music deeply resonates with me. I’m thrilled to be working alongside Eliah and the SoundCloud team to amplify SoundCloud’s mission and impact on artists and music fans.”

Greenberg brings years of industry experience to her SoundCloud appointment, having served as VP of Communications at Sofar Sounds, head of music communications at YouTube, and head of product and partnership communications at Spotify.
Founded in 2007, SoundCloud boasts a catalogue of over 375 million tracks, and is marketed as an artist-first platform empowering creators to build and grow their careers by offering comprehensive tools, services and resources.
Reports in January said SoundCloud’s owners were preparing to sell the company for about $1bn by the end of 2024. This follows strategic actions like staff layoffs aimed at achieving the platform’s first annual profit, with projected revenues of €288m, up from a loss of €29m in the previous year.
