Open call: Babel Music XP in Marseille
Artists around the world are invited to submit applications to perform at the third edition of Babel Music XP in Marseille, France, from 20 to 22 March 2025.
Babel Music XP is a forum devoted to contemporary world music, featuring both a trade fair and a festival open to the public. The event welcomes about 2 000 music professionals including programmers, agents, artists, journalists, investors, policy makers and industry executives, among others.
A total of 30 showcasing artists and bands will be selected by an independent jury. To be a part of the official selection, interested artists should apply here before 7 July.
New registration rules
- In order to get a better idea of the projects proposed, applicants are required to provide at least one audio and one video content dated less than two years ago.
- This can be a live recording, a rehearsal, a session, in a private or public link. The quality of the video is not judged by the jury, only the quality of the performance.
- Only confirmed applications will be considered by the selection committee.
Babel Music XP will cover the costs for/or provide:
- Minimum wages for every artist/musician/one technician on stage (direct contract with Babel Music XP, minimum union wage).
- Accommodation in a twin room on the night of the performance for artists plus one technician.
- An evening meal on the night of the performance for the artist and the technician and one representative of management.
- Light refreshments backstage for all groups.
- Airport transfers/rail transfers to the hotel and venue – only available from 19 March and 23 March. All transfers outside this period must be made independently.
- Accreditation passes for the artists and technicians plus one representative of the group.
- Basic, shared light, sound equipment and backline
- Professional technical assistance (sound, lighting and stage management).
- Information on selected groups and artists on Babel Music XP communications.
