Thando Mthembu

Bio

Thando Mthembu is a cultural practitioner whose work ranges from Artist management, Social media manager, Events coordinator and general administrative tasks. Her professional journey began as the co-founder of Food4Soul, a Kempton Park charity event that was centered around using performance art as a means to raise funds for various charities around the area.

After serving this organization for five years she built a data base of artists that she started completing administrative tasks for. From being part of the The Brother Moves on's Zelizwe Mthembu's management team, handling all his Bookings to being Johannesburg based art collective's general manager.Thando Mthembu has worked with internationally acclaimed Zoe Molelekwa, zambian singer songwriter Tasha Stones, math rock band Follow me follow you and spoken word Artist Angelyric.

In 2018 she was part of the Promotions team of Afropunk Africa, in the same year during the Afropunk battle of the bands she was the artist Liasson for all the bands who were part of the semi-finals. In 2019 she was the tour manager for PG13 during their KZN tour which ended at Smoking Dragon Festival in Drakensburg.

During the recording of PG13s first EP, Hekaya she handled all the administrative tasks. After they were awarded the ConcertSA mobility Fund she tour managed them again in Bloemfontein. Thando Mthembu's attention to detail has landed her stage management gigs at various Tembisa Live venues. She is currently exploring curatorship and helping put together fine art exhibitions that interact with music. She aims to create an environment where multidisciplinary art forms easily co-exist.
