Open call: CO-CARE programme in Kenya
Kenyan creatives aged 18-35 are invited to apply for the Country Creative Arts Residence & Empowerment (CO-CARE) programme.
The CO-CARE programme is a partnership between USIU-Africa, the Challenge Fund for Youth Employment (CFYE) and Across Solutions (the Churchill brand) that will combine technical and entrepreneurship concepts to empower youths to build a career in the creative sector. The programme will have a research and learning agenda where key lessons learned will help improve practice.
It intends to create employment opportunities in the creative arts value chain through training and mentorship workshops that will be held in CO-CARE hubs in Kisumu, Nairobi, Mombasa and Kiambu counties.
Creatives working in the following fields can apply:
- Visual arts
- Comedy
- Music
- Film and cinema
- Fashion and design
- Dance
- Theatre and drama
- Literature and writing
- Crafts and handicrafts
- Cultural festivals
- Photography
- Videography
- Culinary arts
- Poetry and spoken word
- Street art and graffiti
- Others
Applications should be made here before 8 September 2024.
To participate, applicants should also send the scanned copies of their identification document (national ID, birth certificate, or passport) and a short video/photo of original content to cocare@usiu.ac.ke.
Save attachments with your first name and Identification number in this format: ‘FIRSTNAME_ID NUMBER’. Use ‘CO-CARE APPLICATION’ as the email subject.
