Apple Music introduces Music Haptics for all listeners
Apple Music has unveiled Music Haptics, a groundbreaking accessibility feature that allows users, including those who are deaf or hard of hearing, to experience music in a whole new way.
The innovative technology utilises the iPhone’s Taptic Engine to create taps, textures, and refined vibrations synchronised with the audio of a song. The feature is seamlessly integrated with Apple Music, Apple Music Classical, Shazam, and supported third-party apps when connected to Wi-Fi or cellular networks. Music Haptics is available on iPhone 12 and later models, excluding iPhone SE (third generation), running iOS 18 or later.
To complement this launch, Apple Music has introduced a dedicated space featuring curated playlists including Haptics Beats, Haptics Bass, Haptics Vibrations, and Haptics Hits, along with a selection of albums and more.
“We’re thrilled to bring Music Haptics to our users, providing an immersive music experience that transcends auditory boundaries,” Apple Music said. “This feature embodies our commitment to accessibility and inclusivity.”
To activate Music Haptics, users should open the Settings app on their iPhone, select accessibility and ensure Music Haptics is turned on. Thereafter, they should look for the Music Haptics logo on the Now Playing screen in the Music app. Users can temporarily pause Haptics by tapping the logo once and reactivate it with another tap.
Apple Music subscribers worldwide can explore Music Haptics starting today here.
