Angell Mutoni, a fervent Poet/Rapper and Singer-Songwriter hailing from Kigali, Rwanda, is a dynamic force in the world of music. Drawing inspiration from diverse genres, her unique sound seamlessly weaves Poetic Afro-Hiphop, Soulful RnB, and Pop influences. Boasting 3 mixtapes and 3 EPs available on prominent streaming platforms, Angell's artistry resonates far and wide. Notably recognized as a top 10 nominee for the esteemed 2016 RFI Prix Découvertes, her journey has been punctuated by captivating performances at renowned showcases and festivals across East-Africa, including Blankets & Wine, Kigali Up, Amani Festival, Bayimba Festival, etc.
She also performed as the opening act for the opening of the Commonwealth Women’s Forum during the CHOGM 2022 in Kigali. In that same year, Mutoni got a chance to showcase her music at the Pop Kultur Festival in Berlin, Germany through the Goethe Talent Program for which she was selected among 9 other participants.
Beyond her own musical prowess, Angell stands as the visionary behind the Eclectic Nappy Heads Collective (ENHC), an empowering all-girl/women collective fostering sisterhood, secure spaces, and collaborative growth for aspiring girl/women musicians. Eager to continually push boundaries, she remains dedicated to sonic experimentation and forging meaningful collaborations with fellow artists. And lastly Angell Mutoni is the creator and co-host of The Kila Kitu Podcast. A podcast where she and two other hosts talk about Kila Kitu, which means "Everything" in Swahili. They discuss different topics with different friends/guests as they share their opinions or experiences relating to the topics.
Angell Mutoni wants to continue to broaden her platform in the years to come, by sharing the stories of her heart and soul through her music, through the form of collaboration and experimentation.
