SA: Arts and Culture Trust announces new trustees
South African independent arts development and investment organisation, Arts & Culture Trust (ACT), has announced the appointment of four professionals to its Board of Trustees.
The announcement follows a selection process that concluded in August, bringing in individuals with deep-rooted expertise and a commitment to the cultural and creative industries. The new trustees are set to serve for up to two or three years across key portfolios including finance, marketing, business strategy and development, and fundraising.
They are Mathabiso Chamane (finance), Naledi Mosieane (marketing), Sara Hallatt (business strategy & development) and Katlego Ramatlhare (fundraising).
These four professionals are set to play vital roles in advancing ACT’s mission to empower and elevate the South African arts and culture sector. Each trustee will serve an initial three-year term, with the opportunity to extend to a second term, and will be actively involved in shaping ACT’s strategic trajectory.
“We are grateful to welcome such remarkable professionals to the ACT board,” ACT CEO Jessica Denyschen said. “Their collective expertise will be instrumental in shaping ACT’s future policies and strategies, reinforcing our role as a leader in arts empowerment. I am confident that their insights will amplify our impact as we enter the next chapter of ACT’s 30-year legacy.”
ACT board chairperson Arthur Nkuna highlighted the significance of these appointments, emphasising the strengthened governance and future-focused initiatives they bring. “The addition of these new trustees marks a pivotal step forward for ACT, underscoring our commitment to sustainable growth in the arts and culture sector. Each trustee brings unique expertise that not only solidifies our foundation but also drives our mission to foster resilience and innovation in the arts, ensuring we remain a beacon.”
Chamane is a seasoned executive with extensive certifications in accounting, auditing, and risk management.
