
Ghana: Kenya’s Christine Kamau to perform at Jazz and World Music Festival
Kenyan trumpeter Christine Kamau is set to perform at the 10th edition of the Jazz and World Music Festival in Accra, Ghana, on 26 April.

The annual festival, which runs from 23 to 26 April, will take place at the Alliance Française, Accra, and is sponsored by leading European bank Société Générale.
The event will feature a vibrant mix of Ghanaian and international acts, cultural showcases, and a diverse range of musical performances. Among the artists on the line-up are Wiyaala (Ghana), Victor Dey (Ghana), FRA! (Ghana), Alune Wade (Senegal), and Thomas Dobler (Switzerland), with Christine Kamau representing Kenya.
“I am delighted to be representing Kenya at the jazz festival in Ghana,” Kamau said. “I am looking forward to showcasing our East African flavour of jazz music to the audiences in Accra.”
Kamau is widely recognised as one of Kenya’s most prominent jazz musicians, known for her distinctive sound and dynamic trumpet performances. She has performed on international stages across Germany, Uganda, Cameroon, Nigeria, Zanzibar, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Ivory Coast.
Beyond the stage, Kamau is also the founder of the Women in Music Concert Series, a Nairobi-based initiative that promotes female musicians by offering them a performance platform. She has supported nearly 40 artists from Kenya, South Africa, and Zimbabwe through her work in music collaboration and mentorship.
