Zim: Glam Awards nominees are out

Takura leads the pack with five nominations. The ‘Mai Mwana’ singer was nominated in the Best Male Artist, Best Video, Throwback Award, Song of the Year and Album of the Year categories. Following with three nominations is rapper Kikky Badass. T Gonzi and Cal Vin have two nominations each.

The awards, which are in their third edition, will be held in Gweru on 24 November.

“My team would like to thank all those that entered for the second edition of Glam Awards and for making it a success,” Glam Awards director Albert Chigiya told local media.

“The first the Glam Awards were only meant for Midlands State University students. After a success story, we then called for young people all over the county to come together to network and recognise their talents. The inspiration came from the passion that I have for native and indigenous artists and the entertainment industry in Zimbabwe.”

Fans can vote for their favourite artists via the Glam Awards website.
