Call for registration: Music Publishers Association of Kenya
The Music Publishers Association of Kenya (MPAKE) is calling on artists, authors, composers, arrangers and music publishers to register as members of the collective management organisation (CMO).
The registration process begins today in Bomet County and will conclude in Nairobi on 15 December.
Individuals will be taken through the online registartion process and trained on how to manage their accounts.
MPAKE will also provide an educational platform where interested parties can learn more about royalty collection and distribution. Attendees will also get to ask questions about the organisation's work and structures.

About MPAKE
MPAKE is a registered CMO that represents artists, authors, composers and music publishers in Kenya. The organisation was licensed to collect royalties on behalf of creators from March 2017 to February 2018.
On 13 July, the high court in Kakamega nullified MPAKE’s license to collect and distribute royalties on behalf of copyright holders. It declared that KECOBO’s process of issuing MPAKE with a licence was invalid.
On 20 September, MPAKE took part in a Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO) vetting process regarding licences for 2019.
