Kari Bannerman
Bio
Alfred Kari Bannerman. Guitarist and Composer, was born in Ghana and started out playing in local bands, such as the super-talented Boombaya, before moving to the United Kingdom in the 1970's.
His career took off in the United Kingdom, with his superlative skills gaining him recognition as one of Europe's finest Afro-Guitarists. His c.v grew to includes recording and performing with what were undisputably some of Africa's greatest bands, such as Osibisa, late E.T.Mensah, late S.E.Rogie, A.B.Crentsil, Koo Nimo, Hugh Masekela, Pat Thomas, Ronnie Laws, Peter Green of Fleetwood Mack and as part of the African Guitar All-Stars ensemble, alongside Lucky Ranku and others.
He wrote the music score for the Oxfam film on the Rwandan Genocide and for the Oscar nominated movie "Triangle". He also recorded an album with the great Seprewa Harp Master, Osei Kwame Korankye, famously performing with the London Philharmonic Orchestra to critical acclaim in London.
