MTN Bushfire 2019 to host informative round table
eSwatini’s premier music event, MTN Bushfire festival, will host a training workshop at the 2019 edition of the event in Malkerns Valley on 24 May. Titled MTN Bushfire Arts Round Table – Beyond Borders Workshop, the knowledge exchange is intended to provide local artists and creative industry players the opportunity to interact with esteemed international industry professionals.
The workshop will facilitate dialogue between emerging artists and managers with the aim to intensify their knowledge and skills in the creative industry. The round table will also empower creative players and arts organisations to succeed as professionals in the music industry.
What to expect
The workshop will begin with an in-depth focus on the Igoda festival circuit and the opportunities it creates for regional linkages and partnerships. It seeks to bring various music markets and traders together, including Goethe-Institut’s Moving Africa programme, MTN Bushfire and Igoda, with the aim of progressing and facilitating arts mobility in Africa.
The workshop will aim to come up with solutions on how creatives can reduce barriers to mobility. It will also seek to provide the right environment for arts mobility and ensure that information and advice on mobility-related issues is easy to obtain, accurate and comprehensive.
The workshop will look to:
- Create synergy between international festivals, music markets, venues and artists.
- Encourage regional exchange of data and skills.
- Share best practises.
- Develop frameworks for arts mobility.
Who will attend?
The MTN Arts Round Table – Beyond Borders Workshop will address new music markets and events in Africa where artist mobility is effective.
