SA: DJ PH’s track selected as AFCON 2019 theme song

South African artist DJ PH’s single ‘Go Down’ has been selected as the official soundtrack for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The football competition will be held in Egypt from 21 June to 19 July.

Produced by Eternal Africa, the ‘Go Down’ single was released in November last year and features South African rappers Manu World Star and Rouge. The song is available on streaming services like YouTube, Apple Music, Deezer and Tidal.

“This is pretty big,” DJ PH wrote on Facebook. “My song ‘Go Down’ featuring Rouge and Manu World Star is being used for one of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations TVCs. AFCON is Africa’s biggest football competition. The TVC is currently airing on GOtv in East and West Africa under the campaign title, Experience the Unforgettable.”

In the song, DJ PH sets the mood of excitement by singing: “Something is about to go down, somebody bring the potion/I feel like a roller coaster, nobody can stop the motion.”
