Call for applications: 2020 National Arts Festival Fringe in SA
The National Arts Festival (NAF) in South Africa is calling on artists to register to be part of the event's Fringe programming in Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown) from 25 June 5 July.
The call is intended for artists in such disciplines as music, dance, theatre, poetry, film, visual artand public art.
Interested artists should choose their categories here.
The application deadline is 20 January for performing arts and music and 31 January for film and visual art.
“The Fringe is the non-curated part of the festival programme, open to all,” the NAF said. “It provides a space where artists and producers can showcase a variety of works from music and visual art to dance, theatre, poetry, family fare, public art and more to the festival audience and their peers.
“Although the NAF is currently in a research phase towards reimagining a new Fringe model, the 2020 Fringe will remain the same as it has in previous years. There is a comprehensive guide to participation, budget calculator and application forms."
Artists who pay their registration fees before 31 December 2019 will enjoy a 10% discount and a free digital poster, the NAF said.
