As the first female talking drummer on the world stage, Ara has become a cultural icon and a businesswoman. She was appointed cultural ambassador to the Kingdom of Ìfẹ́, by His Imperial Majesty the Ooni of Ìfẹ́, Ooni (Dr) Adeyeye Babatunde Ènìtan Ogunwusi. During her performances, Ara is passionate, electrifying, singing, drumming, dancing, and leaves the audience wanting more. Throughout the world, she has performed in the US, Jamaica, India, United Kingdom, China, France, Amsterdam, Ghana and Canada.
In her A Time To Love album, she recorded and performed with Stevie Wonder. In addition to Wyclef Jean, Wesley Snipes, All 4 One, Femi Kuti, King Sunny Ade, Angelique Kidjo, and the late Brenda Fassie, she has performed with Wizkid, David O, Tiwa Savage, Seun Kuti, Dbanj, and 2Baba. The Miami Key award in 2004 was given to her for pioneering and popularizing traditional drumming among females.
She has received numerous awards both locally and internationally. There are no two acts like Ara in the world.
